Playing Devil's Advocate: Should The Cowboys Cut Josh Brent?
The NFL world was all the buzz Wednesday with the arrest of ex-Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.
Hernandez was charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of large capacity firearm, and he will be held without bail.
After his arrest the New England Patriots immediately cut the pro bowl tight end and the Patriots organization released this statement.
"We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do."
The Dallas Cowboys faced a similar decision to release defensive tackle Josh Brent last season when Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter in death of teammate Jerry Brown Jr. but the Dallas Cowboys have continued to voice their support for Brent as he awaits trail.
The troubled Cowboys defensive end Josh Brent was arrested and is headed back to prison after he reportedly tested positive for drugs for the second time today.
After Brent's arrest will the Dallas Cowboys still stand behind him after this or will they wash their hands of him for good?
